We have had a fantastic term 5, learning all about growing. We have managed to grow sunflowers and runner beans!
Thanks so much to parents who have been reading with the children this term and putting their names forward to help with our upcoming singing trip.
Poster Competition Optional Homework
This Half Term if your child would like to enter the World Environment Day competition then please read below.
Your challenge is to design a poster telling people why we are becoming a disposable plastic bottle free school. It must:
- Be on scrap paper.
- Have at least one plastic bottle fact encouraging people to stop using it.
- Be entered by the first Monday back in term 6. Monday 4th June. Please give it to your child's teacher.
The winning poster will be displayed around the school.
Sing as one singing trip is on Thursday 7th June. Nothing extra is needed as we will be back at school for lunch.
Tuesday June 4th is World Environment Awareness Day. For this event the whole school are having a non-uniform day where the children can wear (if possible) something green.
Our topic in Term 6 is the Seaside and the story we will be using to introduce the topic is The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch.
On the first week back in Maths we will be looking at adding numbers by counting on in our heads 24 +8=. We will also be thinking about measurement and capacity. Thinking about what units of measure we use for different things.
Have a happy and restful Half Term and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
