Do remember to let us know when you will be attending, using the letter sent out via ParentMail, so we can monitor numbers. Thank you.
It has been a busy, productive week in Year 2. Assessments have taken place, in line with the whole school assessment week. They have all worked incredibly hard, and we are very proud of them.
This week in Literacy we learnt a new non-fiction text, and are now beginning to write our own.
In Maths we have been looking at multiplications of 2s, 5s and 10s and relating this to coins.
We are continuing to add layers to the papier-mache hot air balloons, great patience and resilience has been demonstrated!
Spellings - we are really pleased with amount of home learning taking place. A large number of children are well prepared for their weekly test and this gives them great confidence. We hope to see these words spelled correctly within the children's writing too. The spelling test next week will take place on Friday, as usual.
Christmas show rehearsals are shaping up nicely! The songs are sounding lovely. Please help with learning lines at home, so that they feel confident when speaking. A big thank you also, to those of you helping with the preparations of props / volunteering to help with mince pie making and serving. We are incredibly grateful to you all.
Homework - the theme for these is Journeys/Christmas. We hope your child is enjoying selecting activities each week.
PE - On Thursdays, PE with Mr Lett will be outside where possible. Please come prepared for the inevitable cold weather, with jogging bottoms, jumpers and coats!
For those of you who were unable to make our 'Meet the Teachers' event, here is the presentation we shared - if you have any questions, please do ask.
Have a lovely weekend,
The Year 2 team.
