Reminder - PE
Week ending 12th October:
As we come to the end of a wonderful Mental Health and Wellbeing Week, we hope that everybody is feeling relaxed, calm and focused. It has been a busy week of drumming, mindfulness, outdoor learning, walks, pilates and arts and crafts. Everyone has been fully engaged and enjoyed the range of activities on offer.
Next week, we are back to our normal timetable of lessons. In English, we will be looking at the life of Brunel and working towards writing a biography of a fictional character. Key vocabulary includes: biography, past tense, third person, time connectives such as first, next, finally, and paragraphs. In Maths, we will focus on measurement of length and perimeter. Key vocabulary includes: millimetre, centimetre, metre, convert, length, width, ruler, zero and perimeter.
Parents' Evenings are being held next week Monday and Thursday. If you haven't signed up to a time slot then please use the link sent to you via Parentmail. If these do not suit please contact us to arrange another suitable date/time.
Year 5 will be taking part in a Touch Rugby Festival at Ralph Allen School on Wednesday morning. Please can all children ensure they have their PE kit and a water bottle that day. We would appreciate a couple of extra parents to walk there and back with us. If you are available next Wednesday morning (0900 - 1130) please speak to your child's class teacher. Also on Wednesday, Year 5 will have a Forest School session in the afternoon with Mrs Smith. They will need a complete set of old clothes, a change of footwear and a coat (warm/waterproof depending on the weather forecast).
PE will be on Thursday next week so please can all children also have their PE kit that day.
We have sent home the Christmas card designs and forms in homework folders. We ask that the Christmas card design form is looked at and completed by parents/guardians and returned to school by Wednesday 17th October if you would like to order any cards.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
The Year 5 Team.
