Our Values
Our vision at Combe Down Primary is to provide a safe, happy environment, which encourages each child to aim high in all they do, strive to improve continuously and achieve the best they possibly can and to become a responsible and enriching member of society.
We believe that caring is the key to achieving this vision:
- Caring for Ourselves
- Caring for Each Other
- Caring about our World
- Caring about our Learning
Our vision is working when children at our school can say things like:
- I enjoy going to my school and my achievements are celebrated
- I am encouraged to be curious about the world around me
- I am proud of our school and understand how important it is to treat the buildings and grounds with respect
- I know that it is important to be honest, truthful and responsible and to show respect and consideration for others
- I am encouraged to be responsible for myself and to look out for others
- My teachers make learning interesting and I know that my teachers are always aiming for the best for me and I can approach them for help
- I can take part in the many interesting clubs outside school hours
- I feel valued and accepted by my teachers, staff and the other children
- I am happy to work both on my own and with others
- I understand and respect that people are all different and I enjoy exploring the variety of ways in which different people live
- I expect and am encouraged to do my best in everything
- I am encouraged and given the freedom to explore spiritual and moral values within the Christian framework and ethos of our school.
Our vision is working when parents at our school can say things like:
- Our school is a welcoming, caring and happy community; my child and I enjoy being part of it and their achievements are celebrated
- The curriculum is broad, challenging and innovative
- My child feels supported, challenged and always encouraged
- Extra-curricular activities and visits enrich my child’s school experience
- My child and I are in a partnership with the school dedicated to achieving the best for him
- Our school, with its Christian ethos, is a safe place for my child to explore and develop core values of care, respect, honesty, tolerance and integrity
- I am able to talk to any member of staff about my concerns; I know that I will always be listened to, and will always get an answer, even if things I suggest can’t always be adopted!
Our vision is working when staff at our school can say things like:
- I enjoy working in such a rich and rewarding environmentI feel valued by my colleagues, children, parents and governors
- I enjoy seeing the children grow in all respects as well as achieving their best
- I understand and support the direction in which we are all moving together
