What an amazing week of learning we've had!

Year 2

Literacy

We have worked hard this week learning how to make notes from our research and will be ready to start making our information book next week.  We have a number of different animals we are going to create informaion booklets on including, Dolphins, Whales, Sharks, Seahorses, Coral and even a Sarcosuchus.

Numeracy

This week we have continued the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow, helping him find the missing tresure. We had a full Maths Enterprise Day on Tuesday where all the children became different pirates in groups and worked as a team to produce and sell flags.  They all had a different ammounts of resources and had to trade with each other and the teachers to buy and sell their resources to make money.  The servants in both classes won the day and the Commodores in both classes had the best teamwork award.

We have had fantastic feedback from parents and children about this event and would like to thank all the children for thier hard work and effort.

We have also been to the Blue Reef Aquarium this week and had a fantastic time.  We saw turtles, stingrays, crabs, jellyfish, Octopi, Clown Fish, Eels, Cow fish, Coral and even SHARKS!!!.  This trip has been amazing and will help us complete our information booklets in literaacy.
