Year 2 WB: 5.12.11
What a busy week we've had!!
In preparation for our train journey this week the children have been continuing to write their own version of the book "Oi! Get off our train".
We have been doing lots of challenging problem solving in maths this week, concentrating on our mental maths targets. We're nearly there!
The exciting event of this week has been our dazzling performances of our Christmas Nativity! The children have been excellent throughout and as teachers we have been blown away by the confidence of children who are 6-7 years old and are able to get up in front of a large audience and sing a solo. WELL DONE!
On Thursday we enjoyed our Christmas lunch and we had fun opening crackers and eating with the teachers.
We have watched a live band on stage who used music as an inspiration to tell stories.
The finale of our week has been the fantastic Santa express trip where we all got to meet Santa and get a lovely present!
As all the helpers on the express train are volunteers we thought it would be nice to write a letter to say 'Thank You" as they had put in lots of effort to make our day enjoyable.
Next week!
We are going to be finishing off our car projects and story writing. We will be making Christmas decorations and continuing with our mental maths theme decorations.
