Our big learning focus this week has been money!

We have recognised coin values and added totals to buy certain items.  We have even created our own shops and sold items to each other thinkng about how much change we need to give.

We used the number squares to help us work out change if we needed to.

We are practicing our trading skills to get ready for our MATHS ENTERPRISE DAY which begins on the 17th January.  We are all going to be different pirate teams and we will be trading with each other to help make flags to sell at the pirate cove.

Our mental maths focus is continuing to look at our times tables, practice them with your parents!

We have continued to plan our Non-Fiction information text on our favourite under water animal.  We have began to think about highlighting important features of a text in order to make notes to help us write our report.

Next week

Friday we have our trip to the Aquarium and we will be preparing questions for our trip to help us with our research. 

Don't forget to bring in an empty plastic bottle so we can begin to make our underwater creatures.
