When she’s not teaching, Kirsty loves to travel – in fact she and Mrs Inwood spent ten days in India on a career development trip earlier this year, to help the school improve the way in which we teach Indian and Hindu aspects of the curriculum. The two of them brought back a diverse range of teaching resources such as saris, puja plates, clothes, coins and music, and her favourite – a carved stone to ward off evil spirits from a house!
Kirsty has responsibility for Literacy in KS2, and also leads Oral Storytelling, which she is currently expanding from her own year group into other parts of the school. She has always wanted to be a teacher, but, if she wasn’t, she’d settle for a lead role in the next ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’. (There’d have to be a part for her cat, Hippo, too, of course!)
