Emergency Allergy Box – Kitt

We are pleased to be taking part in a trial of the Kitt box – an emergency box to deal with potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.  Here is some information about the box, which is located in our hall foyer, from the company that came up with the concept:

Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) can be fatal within 10 minutes, and now more than ever, the number of people with allergies and the rate of anaphylaxis hospital admissions is rising.

20% of fatal anaphylaxis incidents in UK schools occur in children with no prior history of allergy. We’ve successfully installed anaphylaxis treatment kits in 7 schools across the UK. Kitt provides schools with spare adrenaline auto-injectors which are housed in a secure wall mounted kit, combined with an online management system and accredited training resources. It's an all-in-one lifesaving subscription service for schools - like a defibrillator, but for allergies.

Over the pilot phase we’ve been working closely with nurses and management staff to improve the product, and they are now on the cusp of their official launch at the end of this year to all schools across the UK.

Our founder, Zak, who lives with a severe nut allergy, wanted to try to stop preventable deaths from severe allergic reactions - like those of Karanbir Cheema, Owen Carey, and Natasha Ednan-Laperouse - from ever happening again.

Kitt’s mission is to create a new, proactive, standard for allergy care. Find out more at www.kittmedical.com or follow them on their social media pages:
