Remembrance Day, 11th November 2022

On Friday 11th November the children will spend time in school thinking about and reflecting on Remembrance Day.

The children in Reception and Years 1,3 and 4 will mark this in school with a short Remembrance Day assembly and observe the 2 minutes silence.

The children in Years 2,5 and 6 will be marking this occasion by joining in with the Firs Field Remembrance Day event.

The Year 5 and 6 children will make their way up to the field just before 10.30am. Some Year 6 children will be laying a wreath at the memorial and delivering a short reading from the Kohima lines.

Our Year 2 children will be parading from the school, accompanied by servicemen and women and members of the Royal British Legion, to The Firs Field – leaving school at 10.30am.

Any parents who would like to observe this special 100 year celebration of this momentous event are more than welcome to join us at the Firs Field. Year 2 parents are welcome to follow the parade up to The Firs.
