A great end to Term 4! We have all thoroughly enjoyed our Polar Region topic and learnt lots of super facts about how animals have adapted to life in such a cold and bleak climate!
To bring all of our maths learning together, we all took part in an Easter maths challenge hunt outside! The children worked on their 'ruby' power, working with a partner to solve the questions! Challenges included telling the time, number bonds to 20, doubling and halving, 3D shapes and fractions. We were really impressed with all of the team work we saw, solving problems together!
Our Term 5 topic is called 'Growing'. This will include the growth of humans and animals, as well as focusing on plants, trees and flowers. Stories this term will include 'The Enormous Turnip' and 'The Tiny Seed' By Eric Carle.
In the first week back after Easter, we will be writing our holiday news practising using time connectives and extending our sentences. We will also be exploring all of the things that we can see growing in our own school environment, and planting our own sunflower seeds! In Numeracy, we will have a range of activities related to the days of the week and months of the year.
Thank you to all of the parents and children who have been very busy baking and decorating for our Year 1 cake sale today! We will let you know in Term 5 our plans on spending the money that has been raised.
Look out on DoodleMaths for some extras being set, all related to our learning at school!
Wishing you all a restful and relaxing Easter break, see you in Term 5!
