Weekly Update on Tuesday May 21st 2019
Our second full week of Term 5 and also our final one!
In English this week, we are writing our second, invented Wishing Tale and in Topic and Art, we aim to complete all our WW2 work. In Maths, we are still working on Multiplication and Division. In Science, we are learning about which part of a plant we eat when we eat a vegetable or fruit. Who knew broccoli was a flower?! We are continuing to use Scratch in Computing. Also, Swimming will take place as usual on Friday - a big thank you in advance to all those who have volunteered to help.
Next term, we will start to look at Extreme Weather as our fifth and final Topic of the year. It will be interesting to see how much the children already know about this! In English, we will explore Explanation Texts with the appropriately-named 'Hurricanes'. In Maths, we will be using Bar graphs and Pictograms and working with Mass. In Science, we will start to look more closely at Flowering Plants and in Computing, we will revisit ESafety.
Please continue with Reading, Spelling and Maths support at home. Don't forget: Times Tables and Telling the Time are all important! Do also get busy on Doodle if you haven't already started as we have yet to win the class competition! We also recommend Topmarks for other fun Maths activities which help to consolidate Number Facts in particular.
Have a lovely week!
