School begins at 8.50am for KS1 & FS, 8.45am for KS2 and ends at 3.15pm, with lunch from 12.00 – 1.00pm.
All children have a morning break from 10.30 – 10.45am and Key Stage 1 children have a break in the afternoon. Children are not to be on school premises until 8.35am when the gates are opened, unless they are attending a club (e.g. judo) before school. Year R (and Y1 until October) go straight to their classrooms between 8.40-8.50am, Year 2 line up in the lower playground, Year 3 line up outside the Hall, Years 4, 5 & 6 line up in the top Playground. Children are NOT allowed on the Play Equipment in the Top or Bottom Playground before or after school and NO BALL GAMES are to be played before or after school. No bikes, scooters, rollerblades or Heelies should be ridden/worn on the school premises, your child should push their bike/scooter from the gate, or change into school shoes at the gate. Bikes and scooters should be stored in the racks during the school day. Dogs are not allowed onto the school site and must be tied up away from the gates.
Absence from School
If your child is away from school parents must inform the office by 9.15am on each day of absence – there is an answerphone out of school hours. In line with the Health Protection Agency guidelines, please remember that children must not return to school until 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhea or vomiting. We’d all be grateful if you could follow these guidelines to help prevent anyone else contracting the bug/illness.
Breaktime snacks should consist of fruit, dried fruit, vegetables or any other healthy snack; NOT crisps, biscuits or, in particular, NUTS. All children in the FS and KS1 receive free fruit and vegetables daily as part of the Government scheme.
We positively encourage healthy eating and hope that you will support us in this in what you provide for your children. We are keen to be green and promote recycling so whilst we recycle as much waste as we can it would be even better to use pots/containers/foil that could be used again. Hot lunches are provided by Chartwells at a cost of £2.30 per day for years 3-6 and free of charge for years R-2. Please see the Admin team in the school office for further details
There are several children in school with severe nut allergies so please DO NOT PROVIDE NUTS for your child’s lunch or snack, including peanut butter.
It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that the school has up to date contact details for them should they need to be contacted at any time. It is also imperative that parents contact the school if their child has any specific medical needs, to enable a healthcare plan to be completed so staff are aware of any action to take in the event of your child being unwell at school.
Please ensure you give the office any new home/mobile telephone numbers and/or e-mail addresses to ensure we are able to contact you if necessary. We use ParentMail to send parents e-mails and texts; it is your responsibility to ensure you update your contact details on ParentMail if necessary.
