Role: School Administrative Assistant/Receptionist

Start Date: October 2021

Contract: Fixed term contract until July 2022

20 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 08.30 to 13.30: TERM TIME ONLY

Grade: Grade 2, point 4 £18,933 pa pro rata

Closing date: 9am on Monday 8th November 2021

We are seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant to join our friendly school team to support the smooth running of the school office. Duties will include dealing with attendance, post, administering school meals and monies, managing school records, telephone calls, emails, helping parents/carers with general enquiries and admin support across the school.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have excellent communication skills as you will be the first point of contact for visitors.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have a flexible and positive attitude
  • Have excellent IT skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage a demanding and changeable workload.
  • Be committed to the aims and ethos of Combe Down Church of England Primary School
  • Be able to work in partnership with other schools in the Palladian Academy Trust.
  • Be able to follow direction from the Headteacher and School Business Manager.

Experience of having worked in an administrative role within a school setting would be an advantage however training will be given to the right candidate.

Grade: SCP Grade 5 – 6, £19,312 - £19,698 (pro-rata)

Hours: 18 hours across Monday - Friday

Combe Down Primary School are looking to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 1 with an Education, Health Care Plan. We are looking for a warm, caring individual who can offer an exceptional level of care and foster the child’s independence. Experience of working with children who have had the following needs would be beneficial:

  • Speech and language
  • Social Communication
  • Delayed Learning

We are looking for someone to motivate, support and encourage the pupil to fully access the curriculum and school life.

This role is dependent on individual pupil funding and therefore is a temporary position and will continue until such time as the funding ceases and/or the child leaves the school if this is earlier.

The successful applicants will need to:

  • Be a team player
  • Inspire and motivate children
  • Have high expectations and excellent classroom practice
  • Have a desire to improve their own practice further.
  • Be willing to embrace, support and develop the Christian ethos of our school.
